Citat:
I have both the Canon 60D and the Nikon D7000. If video is important to you, or you are doing a majority of your work in video then the Canon 60D is better for you. Video smoothness is depending on what are you shooting. If you are shooting alot of fast moving things in the frame, the 60D will be smoother just because you can up the frame rates (1080p/30 or drop it to 720p/60); with the Nikon D7000 you only have 1080p/24 or 720p/30. Picture quality they're the same honestly. If you look really really close the 60D looks a tad better than the Nikon D7000.
Like I said with the 60D you have a lot more shooting options to play with regarding to frame rates. You also have full manual control in Live View while shooting so you can change thing quickly on the fly. With the Nikon D7000, you cannot change aperture in Live View. Even when you put everything on Manual (movie exposure setting, Mode Dial..etc), to change aperture, you have to switch off Live View, look in the viewfinder to get the exposure you want. It is annoying especially when you have LCDVF equipped like the Zacuto Z-Finder, you have to take it off to look in the viewfinder.
All and all like I said, if video is what you do most of the time, hands down Canon 60D. If you want a better body or build, then you can pay more and get the Canon 7D. Though, video quality, 60D and 7D are exactly the same thing, just like the T2i (550D). It is the build quality of the camera and the options that mostly put them in a different class.
